Gov't Soldiers Kill One Amba Fighter in Tad Market, Mbengwi
Barely five days after an attack by two BIR elements at a wedding ceremony in the Mbengwi Council hall, resulting to one innocent civilian killed and one hospitalised, another confrontation just occurred. It was last Thursday May 31st, business had been going on normally at Tad Market, the biggest in the Meta clan located in Nyen village, Mbengwi Central Sub Division. Government security elements had mounted a temporal control post at the entrance into the market.
Sooner, an Ambazonia fighter as they are now fondly called moved up to the elements bare bodied and asked them to leave the place and return to their country. The soldiers sensing danger fired at him yet nothing happened. The gunshots sound caused commotion in the market. The boy, whose name we got as Mbah Clovis disappeared from the scene and reappeared several minutes after this time around with a knife, dane gun, bow and arrows probably for an attack mission and also to recover a bike he left behind at the control post during his first appearance.
The brand new bike from reports gathered wasn't even his. He forcefully collected it from a friend promising to return it upon completion of his mission but unfortunately for him, this time around, he met his waterloo. The soldiers, about 7 in number again fired and the bullets caught him as he stumbled and fell on the ground and breathe his last. His corpse was transported same day and buried in his native village, Chup. The incidence brought business at the market to a premature end.
It should be recalled that before being killed, the said Mbah Clovis is reported to have kidnapped a certain Atanga Zacheus, a basic education teacher of Wumnebit village and later released him, he's reported to have also shot at but missed gunning down a uniform officer at the Mile 20 control post, he's reported to have fired gunshots into the air at Mile 19 that set the entire population right to Mile 18 Mbon running helter skelter.
Ironically, he has seemingly been carrying out all these attacks all alone and this was the second time government military officers are coming under attack at the tad market but non has ever been killed or wounded. During the first attack, a total of three bikes were burnt, one belonging to a gendarme officer and two to civilians. All contacted locals around Tad Market, Nyen village to comment on the story turned down the request.
