20th May Turned CPDM Day in Santa
No day, except 1st October last year has ever been tensed in Anglophone Cameroon like 20th May 2018. What was to be a national unity day celebration turned out to be a CPDM rally on the Santa ceremonial grand stand where close to 100 militants turned out in party colours to celebrate under the theme _"Cameroonian citizens, let us remain united in diversity and preserve social peace, for a stable, indivisible and prosperous Cameroon"._ Presided over by the Santa D.O, Viang Makala, the event began with the award of a medal of honour to H.R.H Fominuy Sylvester Fongon, fon of Matazem, followed by a military and civilian march past during which various sections of the CPDM party sang songs of praises to the parties national chairman, H.E President Paul BIYA.
The Santa Youth Peace Force is an innovation Fru Jonathan, Section President for CPDM Mezam II, Santa and Inspector Gereneral at the Ministry of Public Works brought to defend the community against any threats to peace like violence and killings. This peace force championed the match past. Professor Mutia Roseline is Chargé des Missions at the Prime Minister's Office, Yaoundé. After attending the celebrations as an elite from the area, she remarked that they've celebrated peace and unity for the development of the nation. Same impressions shared by Mr. Teneng Walters, Principal of G.H.S Kuang who added that a peaceful and united environment is an attraction to foreign investors for the emergence of the economy by 2035.
Speaking to the press at the close of the ceremony, "Ntumfor" Fru Jonathan said _"The people of Santa have come out massively to celebrate despite the crises because it's a national day though we are all very worried because some of our brothers are languishing on the hills. We have come out massively to say we support peace. The youths and population of Santa have come out to through me say they stand behind the president of the republic whose vision they all buy because he's a man of peace, the one who shall be able to solve the problems of our country. The president is the right person reason why they are calling on him to present his candidature for the up coming elections because he needs to continue to govern this country until the moment he must have put our country on the path of development"._
The event was greased with several artistic performances and cultural animation by several Mbaghalum dance groups.
