COVID-19 Fight: Rainbow Radio Rewarded

COVID-19 Fight: Rainbow Radio Rewarded

In the face of the ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic, Rainbow Radio in Mbengwi, the lone functioning communication house in the entire Momo division has been rewarded for its enormous contribution to fight the disease.
Symbolic Handing Over

While appreciating the donors, the station manager, Morris Tagyen said "I'm overwhelmed and humbled with this wonderful gesture because as you know, at times you cook food, dish it to others and don't even have yours. We've been disseminating anti COVID-19 messages but haven't actually been empowered with what it takes to fight it. So your coming here is really august"

He was appreciating a couple, the Leke's who came in with the donation on behalf of two well wishers from Toboh (Back Mbon) quarter resident abroad by name Emmanuel Tendoh (U.S) and Olivia Teghen (Italy). This was precisely on Friday May 1st 2020.

A day before, a similar donation was made still from same donors to the Bambe Union in Mile 19, House of Hope Orphanage Wumfi and the Mbengwi District Hospital. Earlier on, while addressing the staff of the radio, Mr. Leke Alexander told them "You guys are doing a marvellous job in the whole of Momo through your programs, covering of events and for that we say thank you and more grease to your elbows. Don't relent your efforts in sensitising the public about this deadly disease."

He also assured them on behalf of the donors that when the means will be available, they will still think about the staff of Rainbow Radio though nobody but God can reward them for the job they've been doing.

Upon installation, the staff members immediately commenced washing their hands, this preceded by a special hand washing procedure lesson  during which Madam Leke Guillian educated them on the five stages of proper hand washing being wetting, soap application, washing, rinsing and drying.

This was the first ever donation to the radio in the advent of COVID-19, reason why it called for celebration as both donor's representatives and beneficiaries ended the day at a spot nearby where a kick out covid-19 toast was proposed.
