50th Anniversary Celebration of the National Youth Day in Mbengwi

Youths of Momo Division in general and Mbengwi Central Sub Division in particular last Thursday February 11 2016 joined their peers nationwide in commemorating the Golden Jubilee of the National Youth Day in Cameroon. The Mbengwi grand stand was filled to the brim with kindergartens, enfants, pupils, students, teachers, state officials and the population at large. Unfortunately, it was a rare moment to witness the first assistant S.D.O for Momo (A1) Mr. Fouda Nicaise presiding at the ceremony instead of the number one man of the division, Ngong Justin Dieudone. We learnt that Pa Ngong is seriously sick. Prior to the D-Day, one major innovation that distinguished the "cinquantenaire" from the previous was a carnival that took place two days before. The day began with a rebroadcast of the Head of State's Address, lighting of anniversary candles and then march pass beginning with the physically challenged, nursery schools, primary schools, secondary and high schools plus youth groups. The basic education kids marched along singing patriotic songs with most of them centred around president Biya and vision 2035. For the very first time, a university-like higher institution of learning, HIBUMS Polytechnic that just opened a campus at Ndakwa Estates, Mile 17 Mbengwi took part in the march past.
